Sophie Kelly is one of the most exciting up-and-coming attackers in the Netball Super League. 2026 see’s her lining up for her second year with the London Pulse as they attempt to go back to back title winners.
Kelly made her Super League debut with Surrey Storm in 2021 aged just 16 but found her feet at Team Bath, with the goal attack combining her management degree studies at the University of Bath with her exploits in Blue & Gold.
The Winchester native quickly demonstrated her all-round game in the circle, with a particular flair for landing long bombs – something that has paid dividends with the introduction of the Super Shot.
Kelly spent two seasons at Team Bath before she signed for London Pulse ahead of the 2025 season. She made ten appearances in her first year with the club, helping them to finish top of the table during the regular season and go onto win the Grand Final at The O2 Arena, London.
Kelly’s impressive displays in the Netball Super League have earned the admiration of Roses selectors, with the clever attacker part of the Roses Academy between 2019 and 2023 before she was elevated to the Futures Programme for the 2024-25 season.
During her time with the Academy, Kelly won gold at Netball Europe at both U17 and U21 level and was Captain of the U19 side.
She was then part of the Roses squad that travelled to New Zealand to take part in the Fast5 Netball World Series in 2024.
Kelly then travelled to Australia as part of the England U21 tour in January 2025. Later that same year she played a key role in the England side that won a bronze medal at the Netball World Youth Cup in Gibraltar. She closed out 2025 by being named in the England A for matches against Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Sophie has lofty goals and a quiet determination to be the best she can be. She has set her sights on playing for England in a Commonwealth Games and World Cup. She wants to be the starting GA for England and to eventually secure a contract in the SSN.
