Stella Athlete Management was created to support and empower female elite athletes through proactive, consistent and personalised management services that aim to support the athlete holistically, in and out of competition.

The Managers at Stella recognise and understand the unique issues women face in sport and society, and through their legal experience and extensive sporting experience as athletes, advocates and volunteers, are well equipped to support female athletes to achieving their full potential and preparing them for life after sport.

Meet Our Team

Brieanna Mercer

Director

Brie is a co-founder and Director of Stella Athlete Management, who provides strategic advice to develop the the services, brand and business for the athletes.

Brie graduated in 2011 with a Bachelor of Laws and has worked as a lawyer for nearly 10 years in areas such as corporate regulation, white collar crime, commercial litigation, intellectual property, employment law and as in- house counsel with a sporting body.

Brie has held positions on the board of Water Polo WA including as Chair and is the first and only female member of the WAFL Tribunal Panel. She has been a longstanding member of the Australian New Zealand Sports Law Association (ANZSLA) and was a member of the 2019 ANZSLA Conference Organising Committee.

Brie grew up predominantly playing basketball and netball. She currently plays netball for Wembley Netball Club where she is also the club’s Member Protection Officer.

Lauren Gandini

Managing Director

Lauren is a co-founder and the Managing Director at Stella, responsible for the day to day management of athletes, staff and stakeholder relationships. She is an AFL Accredited Agent and uses her own sporting experience in basketball and netball to represent athletes across a variety of sports.

Lauren graduated in 2014 with a Bachelor of Law and Psychology, and has practiced predominately in employment law, personal injury and health law. She worked as in house counsel for nurses at the ANF for 4 years, before moving to a non-profit community legal centre that assists clients with mental illness through advocacy in tribunals, negotiation with service providers, community education and policy submission.

Lauren is a Commissioner for the NBL1 West, and previously the chair for various sporting tribunals across WA. She also has experience in Member Protection and Integrity roles through her work with Basketball WA. She is an ANZSLA member and keeps up to date with regular professional development in the sporting law domain.

She played in the WA State Basketball League (now known as NBL1 West) between 2009 and 2020, and was a training partner in the State Netball League in 2012. She played A grade WAAFL in 2020 and currently plays in the Fremantle Netball Association in the A1 division.

Simone Anderson

Partnerships Co-Ordinator and AFLW Emerging Talent Associate

Simone joins Stella as an AFLW Associate working with our emerging athletes and as Stella’s partnerships coordinator.

Simone has pursued her love for sports by studying a Bachelors degree in Sport Science at Murdoch University in Australia and Lancaster University in England. Before Stella, Simone worked as the Logistics Coordinator (and manager prior to that) for an amazing company called Community Access Squad who run a mobile group program for young adults with additional needs. She also worked in the outreach program at Cockburn Youth Centre before taking on a QSR role at Sealanes in Fremantle.

Simone has been a dedicated sports enthusiast, participating in sports ranging from netball to football, baseball, karate, and water polo. This passion saw Simone volunteer with various clubs, from football committees to assisting with sponsorship liaison for the Perth Inferno Women’s AWIHL team.

Simone’s commitment to inclusivity and sports development has been evident in her work and volunteer experiences. Simone finds immense joy in seeing more people engage in community sports, and her contributions have played a pivotal role in the growth of players and clubs within the women’s and non-binary codes.

Abbie Martin

Athlete Manager

Abbie is an Accredited Cricket Agent who brings a wealth of experience and qualifications to Stella and her athletes. She formally represents prospective and professional cricket players, and assists in other sports such as AFL and basketball.

Abbie holds a Bachelors Degree of Sports Management and a Graduate Certificate in High Performance Sports Leadership. She is also part of the Women Leaders in Sport Alumni from Sport Australia. Her work experience spans across a variety of sporting organisations both in South and Western Australia, with key involvement in cricket and AFL.

She has played 7 seasons of state league basketball in SA and WA and previously captained the under 16 SA State Basketball Team. She previously played A Grade WAAFLW for Rossmoyne alongside Managing Director Lauren, and is currently taking a break from team sport and enjoying the challenges of Pilates and yoga styled training.

Taryn Priestly

Athlete Manager

Taryn brings a diverse and extensive sporting background to her role at Stella, with a passion and dedication for seeing women in action sports promoted, empowered and championed.

Along with a Diploma in Sports Management specialising in Surfing and a Cert III in Sport, Taryn owned her own sporting franchise (Kidz ‘n Sport) where she gained valuable marketing, management and operational experience; and is well connected within the Australian sporting industry.

Taryn is an avid surfer, skater, wakeboarder and snowboarder and has always cherished the joy and relaxation these sports bring her. Her own achievements include Basketball WA playing life membership, being part of the inaugural AFLW competition with the Fremantle Dockers, winning and captaining over 5 premierships and representing Australia at Gaelic. Her 15+ years experience in high performance environments has provided her with a deep understanding of the athlete journey and the commitment required to succeed.

With a strong knowledge and understanding of the sporting landscape both in Australian and internationally; Taryn can support athletes at all different stages of their sporting career by championing them and connecting them to opportunities to further enhance their journey.

Jaimi Rumbold-Raynsford

Athlete Manager

Jaimi is an Accredited AFL Agent who brings a wealth of knowledge, experience and qualifications to Stella and her athletes.

Jaimi holds a Bachelors Degree of Commerce with a double major of Commercial Law and Sports Management, Diploma of Business, Professional Certificate (Player Agent) and Australian Institute of Management (WA) Certificates in Foundations and Advance Government Course and Women in Leadership Governance Course.

With her strong passion for female sport stemming from growing up in the small Wheatbelt town of Moora, 167 km from Perth. Jaimi has over 11 years experience working in State and Local Government in a wide range of roles including sponsorship, sports health promotion, community participation and inclusion.

Jaimi was the first female in Western Australia to be an Accredited AFL Agent.

Jaimi prides herself on the strong relationship she creates with her athletes and their families as she guides them through all aspects of their careers.

Megan Anderson

Athlete Manager

Megan is a highly accomplished netball coach and former Australian Diamonds player who has achieved significant success throughout her career. She has a great understanding of female athletes from both a player and coach perspective and is a self-confessed sports nut.

Megan’s playing career started in the Woy Woy juniors, and she quickly progressed to represent the NSW Catholic School team. She went on to play for the NSW U19/U21/Open State Team, the Australian Diamonds (20 tests), the Sydney Swifts (CBT), the World Invitational Team, the Southern Steel and Northern Mystics (ANZ Championship).

After retiring from playing, Megan began her coaching career. She has held several coaching positions, including most recently, the Head Coach of the Queensland Firebirds in 2021 and 2022. She was a specialist Coach for the Australian Diamonds Netball Team from 2018 to 2020, including the 2019 World Cup. She was an Assistant Coach for the Australian Fast5 Team in 2016, the NSW Swifts from 2014 to 2017 and the Northern Mystics in 2013.

In addition to her coaching positions, Megan has worked various positions promoting and developing netball, including mentor and assessor roles and as a Director of Coaching at her local association.

Megan’s education qualifications include a Bachelor of Human Movement Science, a Graduate Diploma in Business – Marketing and Management, and she is currently studying a Masters in Sports Coaching & Education. She is also an Elite Level Netball Coach.

Megan has been involved in various media appearances, she has been a guest on several sports shows, including The New Inventors on ABC, The Footy Show on Channel 9, The Code on Maori TV in New Zealand, and Sky Sports Netball Variety program, to name a few. She has also provided Courtside Commentary on both TV and radio.
