Now into her 7th year of AFLW, Aimee Schmidt has established herself as one of the leading goal-kickers in the West and her knowledge and leadership on the field makes her an important part of the West Coast Eagles. Aimee plays her half-forward role with agility and athleticism and has a strong ability to mark the ball, attack the ball and read the play.
After representing WA in several state teams and winning 2 WAFL Premierships with the Coastal Titans, Aimee was drafted to GWS in 2016 where she played as a pioneer of the AFLW for 5 seasons, and received the award for GWS Goal of the Year in 2017. In 2022 Aimee returned home to WA to play for the West Coast Eagles, where she has received consecutive awards for the leading goal-kicker.
Off the field, Aimee is a qualified teacher and currently teaches relief at Darling Range Sports College. She’s passionate about coaching and is currently the Assistant Coach at Subiaco Football Club. She plans to use her playing and coaching experience to help the next generation of AFLW hopefuls make it to the next level. Aimee enjoys anything outdoors, especially camping and the beach, and spending time with her family and friends.
