Jess Shaw

Jess’s early career was hampered by injuries, however over the past 3 seasons, she has found her feet in the NSL. The agile and crafty attacker has a beautiful feed and great vision, which continually provides a constant source of feeds for shooters on the court. After making her NSL debut at 15 for Yorkshire Jets, Jess brings plenty of experience and a cool head to the court. Jess was wing attack of the Year in the NSL in 2024, named in the All Star 7, and in 2025 she was 2nd overall for number of feeds.

Her consistency and stand out performances earned her a call-up to Jess Thirlby’s Vitality Roses squad in 2024, where she continued her fine form on the international stage. She travelled out to face Australia as an injury replacement in September 2024 and took her chance with both hands, impressing with her performances and she continued to play a key role on home soil in series wins in both the Taini Jamison Trophy and Vitality Nations Cup. Looking to build on this recent form, Jess has set her sights on consolidating her spot in the Roses squad and making the Roses team for the Commonwealth Games in 2026 and the World Cup in 2027.

Jess will play for the powerful L’Borough Lightning outfit in 2026, hoping to help them go one better by winning the NSL.
