Scarlet Jauncey

Sport means everything to me — it’s where I feel strong, proud, and connected. I play for my family, who’ve always supported me, and as a proud Yawuru woman, I represent my culture every time I step onto the field. My goal is to keep growing as both a player and a person, and to inspire young First Nations girls to believe in themselves. Sport has given me lifelong friendships, a deep sense of identity, and the chance to be a role model for my community. I’m proud of how far I’ve come and excited for what’s still to come.

Bio

Scarlet is the Black Swans captain, a member of the Aus U21 team for the World Youth Cup and a West Coast Fever Training Partner. Busy times for the 19 year old, but a path that she walks with a calm, determined presence. Having represented WA at U17 and U 19 age levels, Scarlet was always a great physical presence on court, but she has grown into so much more than that. She has the ability to run at GD, has a strong attacking game and creates havoc for shooters over the shot and snaffles rebounds. Add in the leadership qualities that have seen her lead her nation and Scarlet is one impressive young women.

No doubt with a big future ahead of her, Scarlet remains fully focused on the future while enjoying the present and working hard to continually improve her daily habits and High Performance mindset. Scarlet loves being able to represent her family and culture and would love to inspire and be a role model for her community. An exciting prospect on the Australian Netball landscape, one to watch for the future.
