Bio

Sharna Thompson is a rising Tasmanian guard born in 2000 who has steadily climbed the basketball ranks through strong performances in SEABL and NBL1.

With stints as a WNBL development player at Townsville and Adelaide, Sharna has solidified her reputation as a sharpshooting, team-oriented guard.

In 2025 Sharna led the University of Tasmania to a National 3×3 title as MVP and then captained her team to victory at the FISU Oceania 3×3 World Cup qualifying tournament.

Back at the Hobart Chargers, she combines local pride with championship pedigree and leadership aspirations. At age 24, she’s a dynamic presence on her home‑town court and poised for further breakthroughs at higher levels.

A combo guard capable of creating her own shot or moving off-ball, Sharna is a sharp perimeter shooter, tenacious defender, and brings great intensity to the court. With strong stats in the NBL1 and WNBL exposure Sharna is pushing towards another WNBL opportunity.
