Tess Lyons WAFLW debut in 2022 has set her apart from the pack with her impressive showing in the ruck. Her follow-up work after the ruck contests were especially outstanding, leading to nominations in the WAFLW Team of the Week 5 times throughout the 2022 season. By the end of the season Lyons was vying for position as the best ruck in the WAFLW competition. She ended up averaging 19.4 hit-outs to go with 7.2 disposals a game and led the charge for Subiaco FC from the centre of the ground.
Tess’s movement, agility and ability to get to the contest for her size is a point of difference to many other talls.
Tess’s huge impact in her debut season of WAFLW has led to being named in the leadership group for her 2023 season, as well as an invite to the 2023 Draft Combine.
