AFLW CBA Update

In big recent news, the highly anticipated AFLW CBA was confirmed for the upcoming season 7 and brought with it a 94% increase on tier payments.

A Tier 1 player will now earn $71,935, Tier 2 $55,559, Tier 3 $47,372 and Tier 4 $39,184. Required weekly hours for players have raised from 15 to 20.

Additional benefits include improved pregnancy and parental policies, $10,000 of relocation, improved support for meals and travel, 5 pairs of footwear provided.

There are 4 new teams entering the competition (Sydney Swans, Port Adelaide, Essendon and Hawthorn) bringing in 120 additional playing spots which has seen many put their hand up for this years draft.

This new CBA will only be in place for the upcoming season, with the AFLPA affirming their commitment to securing 12 month contracts for the female players.

We at Stella are encouraged by improvements in the AFLW CBA and applaud the AFLPA and the players for their hard work on securing better pay and conditions for female players.
