Stella welcomes Sally Phillips

Stella are proud to welcome Sally Phillips to our agency as an Athlete Manager.

Sally has had a distinguished career in Australian women’s basketball, both as a player and administrator.

Sally’s elite playing career started when she earnt a scholarship at the Australian Institute of Sport. Sally played 193 WNBL games and was a member of the Australian Gems team that won a gold medal at the 1993 Junior Women’s World Cup. She represented Victoria, captaining the Big V to five gold medals and a silver in national titles. Sally also enjoyed success in the US, playing for the University of Oregon and earning All-American honours. Upon retiring in 2000, she was awarded an Australian Sports Medal for her contributions to basketball.

In 2016, Sally returned to the sport as Head of the WNBL, where she played a pivotal role in revitalising the league during difficult times. She introduced key policies, negotiated a new broadcast deal with FOX Sports, and secured a new naming rights partner.

Sally holds Certificates in Leadership Professional Development from La Trobe University, Advanced Communication and Self Management from Deakin University and was a member of the Australian Sports Commissions inaugural Executive Talent Program for Women. Sally is currently studying Professional Health and Wellness Coaching with Wellness Coaching Australia.

With a focus on leveraging her experience, Sally now joins Stella to create impactful outcomes for athletes, drawing from her extensive background in sport and leadership.
